Exciting Summer Season For Six Cloves

Updated: Jul 22

🎉🍷 Six Cloves Alder Spring Vineyard Chardonnay & Pinot Noir Scores 94 Points from Wine Enthusiast! 🎉🍷

I am absolutely delighted to share the fantastic news that both the 2021 Alder Springs Vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir have received an outstanding score of 94 points, earning superb wine ratings from Wine Enthusiast! Check out how much wine professionals enjoyed Six Cloves!

This super-complex wine is fresh, vibrant with aromas of dark berries, red plums and black tea on the nose. The flavors on the palate are Bing cherry, cranberry and grapefruit zest wrapped around mushroom, earth, mineral and a dry finish. Decant and aerate for 30 minutes. Drink or cellar until 2034. — Tonya Pitts

This wine is fresh, lively with aromas of yellow apple, peach, white flowers, baking spice and toasted vanilla on the nose. Flavors suggest white peach, pear and lemon zest wrapped around baked apple and fresh caramel, with balanced minerality and a juicy, dry finish. Pair with baked rigatoni with béchamel sauce or spring vegetables. — Tonya Pitts

Throughout my winemaking journey, my goal has always been to honor the authenticity of the grapes, celebrating the dedication of the growers, while expressing my own unique perspective as a winemaker of Japanese heritage. Japanese food culture and fine wines from Europe that I experienced in NY have played a significant role in shaping my winemaking approach and philosophy. I am immensely thankful to all the incredible people who have been a part of my journey and who have offered their unwavering support in helping me achieve my dream. I am truly grateful for each and every one of you.

2024 Growing Season Updates

In recent years, our wine country has been grappling with unusually scorching summers in the months of June and July. While our area has faced a few minor fires, the dedicated efforts of our local fire departments have managed to keep them under control. Due to the persistent heatwaves, we are anticipating an early harvest this year. I recently took a trip to the Buf-Wehr Ranch's Pinot Noir vineyard in the Russian River to assess this year's growth. Despite some sun damage caused by the intense heat, the vines appeared robust and healthy, signaling another promising harvest this year.

Bottling 2023 Vintage

We have just completed our 2023 vintage bottlings last week. The 2023 vintage was one of the longest harvest years that we have experienced in Northern California. Due to a long hang-time, grapes slowly matured, and many of us picked grapes very late in the season. All of the Six Cloves grapes came in ideal conditions with low brix but perfect maturity, and they tasted amazing this year - the best tasting Six Cloves ever! Stay tuned for their release date sometime in the fall this year. I can't wait for you to taste the great vintage wines from Six Cloves!
